Our Visit to Lake Garda and Verona,

In June 2004 Agnes and I flew from Gatwick to Verona to spend a quiet week on the shores of Lake Garda, at the Grand Hotel, Gardone Riviera. It had been a busy year so far for us and we had no particularly ambitious plans, but rather chose to rest and read and to enjoy the ambience of the location, and the excellent local food and wines.
We took the opportunity to see a performance of "Madame Butterfly" at the open air arena at Verona
